Nestled in the coastal town of Sanur, east of Denpasar Bali, is our 9-unit complex, offering retirees the opportunity to live a life of nature, culture, and a lower cost of living.

Amandesa is an experimental pilot project, 9-units rental housing for lower-income retirees from Australia. A part of their rent will support “Housing the Poor” for local Indonesians. The land is leased to reduce the required upfront investment. CHL will bear the cost of construction, and the returns will be from the rent paid. The land and buildings to be returned to the owner after the agreed lease period. 

The Vision to develop several such rental housing projects, called the “Retiring in Paradise” program. One idea is to develop such venture together also with the Local Community Banjar. CHL provides the tenants (Market) and where the local community allocates the land to become a “Perpetual Community Owned Business” under a “Social Franchise” scheme. These will partially also help CHL Indonesia to be self-sustaining business entity.

A first of its kind, Amandesa is a self-supporting community complex for older Australians on low to moderate incomes with the desire to experience living in a diverse and culturally rich environment such as Bali.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY YOU MUST BE:

• An Australian resident, living in Australia permanently;

• An Australian retiree receiving an Australian pension and;

• 55 years and above in good health and financially secure;

• Women who are widowed in Australia, receiving Widow B Pension, Widow Allowance, or Partner Allowance before reaching pension age;

• Receiving an aged pension;

• Other forms of income support e.g., carers payment and disability benefit; won’t be paid to people living outside of Australia unless they residence in a country in which Australia has an International Social Security Agreement;

•  Eligible for an Indonesian visa;

• Able to access private health insurance in Indonesia.

Amandesa has nine furnished units, three for singles and six couples, complete with your own bathrooms, kitchen facilities and living space surrounded by lush gardens providing a sense of peaceful living for the community.

Rent is paid monthly and is set at AUD$700 per month for a single unit and AUD$900 per month for a double unit.
